I’m so excited to share this conversation with you all -

I knew it would be engaging and mind-expanding when I sat down to record, but I couldn’t have predicted just how much new insight I’d leave with, and I know you’ll feel the same way.

When Georgi first crossed my radar, I was delighted and intrigued. A philosophy professor using tarot? It was indescribably refreshing to see someone take a practice that has often been maligned as irrational and cast out of intellectual spaces seriously.

Georgi’s work has expanded my understanding of what tarot can do, putting a name on phenomena that I’ve experienced often at the reading table, but have been unable to articulate clearly. This conversation was invigorating, clarifying, and healing, and also the kind that generated about five topics for full-length episodes I hope we’ll be able to explore in the future!

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Georgi’s tarot origin story (hint: it take place on a boat!)

  • The epistemic value of tarot

  • How to ask good - as in productive and expansive - questions when reading

  • How Georgi uses tarot to teach philosophy and creativity

  • Tarot’s role in encouraging critical thinking, especially in the age of AI (yes, we go there)

  • The power of attention, introspection, and questioning assumptions

  • Playfulness, creative riffing, and using Dixit as a divinatory tool
